Dates: Saturday, September 15th – Tuesday, September 18th, 2018

The 2018 CNLA Fall Conference and CNL Certification Exam Review Course will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, the “Queen City,” on the beautiful campus of Queen’s University of Charlotte, at the Sports Complex & Conference Center. The Review Course will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 15-16 and the Fall Conference will follow on Monday and Tuesday, September 17-18. Keynote Speaker

The Keynote Speaker will be Linda Roussel, Ph.D., RN, NEA-BC, CNL, recipient of the inaugural American Association of Colleges of Nursing Clinical Nurse Leader Educator Vanguard Award.

Dr. Roussel’s practice initiatives focus on clinical nurse leadership, academic-clinical partnership and frontline engagement.

Dr. Roussel has received Health Resources and Services Administration funding(HRSA) to establish a Neighborhood Healthcare Nurse-Managed Clinic for vulnerable populations.

A previous nurse executive with more than 30 years of experience in health care, Dr. Roussel has served in leadership roles in acute, post-acute, long-term care, and transitional care management.

Dr. Roussel has authored and co-authored nursing textbooks including Management and Leadership for Nurse Administrators, Initiating and Sustaining The Nurse Leader Role, Project Planning and Management, A Guide for CNLs, DNPs, and Nurse Administrators, and Evidence-Based Practice, An Integrative Approach to Research, Administration, and Practice. She serves as a professor and faculty mentor for nursing students.

Call for Abstracts

The CNLA Carolinas Chapter welcomes your abstracts for the 2018 CNLA Fall Conference at this time! The deadline for submitting abstracts is June 1st, 2018. Abstracts submitted after June 1st will not be considered. Registration and attendance is required for all presenters; no substitutions will be permitted. The abstract submission form can be found here.

Conference Rates

The fees are as follows if registering before July 15th, 2018:

$200 for the CNL Certification Exam Review Course

$150 for Student CNLA Members for the 2018 CNLA Fall Conference

$200 for Full/Certified CNLA Members for the 2018 CNLA Fall Conference

$225 for Non-CNLA Members for the 2018 CNLA Fall Conference

Clinical Nurse Leaders (CNLs) are masters-prepared advanced generalists with a wide range of duties and expertise. The mission of CNLA is to provide a forum for CNLs and students working toward the certification in all practice settings to collaborate, collect data, publish results, network, promote high standards of practice, maintain a professional presence and stay abreast of issues affecting their practice. The vision of CNLA is to improve patient outcomes through a focus on safety and quality outcomes and the implementation of evidence based practice at the point of care.   • Poster presentations will need to be 48” H x 36” W and must be in portrait format.  (Please adhere to these dimensions to ensure that your poster can be displayed properly.
  • CNLA will provide double-sided bulletin tape.
  • Historically successful posters presentations have included graphics, pictures and text clearly describing the methods, programs or practices pertaining to the theme of the event.
