2020 Call for Nominations to the Clinical Nurse Leader Association Board of Directors

CNLA, it is time to consider worthy candidates for the two Officer positions that are up for election to your Board of Directors this year:


Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Nominations will be accepted until

Sunday, March 1st, 2020 @ 2359 Central Time

Ballots will be issued via electronic voting platform on

Monday, March 16th, 2020

Voting will close on

Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at 2359 Central Time

The new Officers of the CNLA Board of Directors will be announced on

Thursday, April 2nd, 2020

From the Bylaws:

The Treasurer shall:

  • transact and record the financial affairs of the CNLA
  • receive dues and all other funds
  • keep an itemized account of all receipts and disbursements
  • follow all applicable financial policies/procedures and Bylaws
  • provide a written financial report at all BOD and membership meetings
  • ensure that an outside party completes an annual financial audit and taxes owed are paid on time. Prepare a yearly budget of potential BOD expenditures and ensure that cash reserves are adequate to cover anticipated expenditures

The Marketing and Communication Coordinator shall:

  • coordinate the CNLA conference with the CNLA BOD
  • promote CNLA organization on current social media
  • collaborate with CNC on retention and recruitment of CNLA members
  • establish relationships with Schools of Nursing to promote CNLA membership
  • liaise to maintain CNLA website
  • liaise with CNC to provide CNLA updates for the newsletter

Nomination Criteria

  • Nominee must be a Certified/Full CNLA Member in good standing
  • Nominee may only run for one (1) of the available offices
  • Nominee may not have already served more than two (2) terms in the desired office

Nomination Requirements

  • Each nominee must meet the following requirements:
    • Submit a declaration of nomination for the intended office either by the potential candidate or by another CNLA member
      • In the event of a nomination by another CNLA member, submission of a declaration of nomination for the intended office by the potential candidate will subsequently be required
    • Submit a concise biography and statement of qualifications
    • Submit a professional letter of reference
    • Submit a headshot (a picture of the candidate from the shoulders up)
    • Submit contact information (best email and best phone number)
  • Tender all required components to elections@cnlassociation.org no later than Sunday, March 1st, 2020 @ 2359 Central Time
  • The Nomination/Election Committee will attempt to facilitate the completion of incomplete nominations during the nomination period
  • Nominations deemed incomplete at the conclusion of the nomination period will be discarded and those individuals will not be considered candidates in the election
  • Potential candidates that appear to be unopposed must still comply with the above requirements
